FOR ATTORNEYS AND FIRMS

Your clients can now arrive organized.

LexisTrace gives civil plaintiffs a structured workbench to organize their evidence before they walk in your door — mapped by claim element, with a statement of facts and exhibit index already built. Your intake hour goes to strategy, not document excavation.

THE INTAKE PROBLEM

Solved before you meet.

Most matters start with an excavation. LexisTrace changes that — your client organizes their evidence before intake, so your first meeting starts at strategy.

Reclaim your intake hours

When a client arrives with a LexisTrace Counsel Handoff Package, your first meeting starts at strategy — not document sorting. Your billable time goes further, and intake decisions are faster.

Intake package. Not a thumb drive.

The Counsel Handoff Package includes a statement of facts with inline exhibit citations, a numbered exhibit index, a claim-element coverage summary, and a gap log. Attorney-intake format, client-built.

Evidence mapped by claim element

Evidence is tagged to legal claim elements (wrongful termination, discrimination, damages, retaliation, etc.) by the client before they arrive. You see the picture they see — and what they are missing.

Chain-of-custody log with SHA-256 hashes

Every upload, annotation, and share is logged with a timestamp and SHA-256 file hash. Useful for establishing the integrity of the client work product from the moment of upload — disclosed as a tamper-evidence aid, not a forensic attestation.

Attorney role in the portal

You receive an Attorney-role view of the matter — read-only evidence access, the ability to confirm items and add intake notes. You cannot modify or delete the client evidence. Client files are isolated by matter.

No software to install

The attorney portal is browser-based. You access the shared matter via a secure link the client sends you. No account required to review a shared package.

THE HANDOFF PACKAGE

What you receive when a client shares their matter.

The Counsel Handoff Package is the attorney-facing output of a client LexisTrace case. It is not a legal brief or court filing — it is a structured intake document that shows you what the client has, how they have organized it by claim element, and what they believe is still missing.

  • Statement of facts — client-authored, with inline exhibit citations
  • Numbered exhibit index with filenames, dates, and claim-element tags
  • Claim-element coverage summary (organizing indicator only — not an evidentiary assessment)
  • Gap log — evidence types the client identified as outstanding
  • Chain-of-custody log with SHA-256 hash per file

The Counsel Handoff Package is a client-organized work product — not a legal filing, exhibit list for court, or forensic chain-of-custody attestation. The chain-of-custody log is a tamper-evidence aid only. Authentication, admissibility, and spoliation analysis remain the attorney's domain.

WHAT ATTORNEYS NEED TO KNOW

Honest about what LexisTrace is — and is not.

LexisTrace is an organizing aid for your clients, not a replacement for legal judgment. We are explicit about scope so you can use the tool with confidence.

What LexisTrace does

  • Organizes client evidence into a structured, navigable matter file
  • Maps documents to legal claim elements — client-assigned, attorney-reviewed
  • Generates a numbered exhibit index for attorney intake
  • Logs file integrity via SHA-256 hash at time of upload (tamper-evidence aid)
  • Records every action with a timestamp in an append-only chain-of-custody log
  • Isolates each matter by account — no cross-matter data leakage

What LexisTrace does not do

  • Does not provide legal advice, legal strategy, or claim assessment
  • Does not produce court-admissible documents or certified chain-of-custody records
  • Does not make authentication or admissibility determinations (Federal Rule of Evidence 901)
  • Does not analyze spoliation risk — that analysis belongs to counsel
  • Does not create an attorney-client relationship
  • Does not perform work product privilege analysis

Firm access — from $79/seat/month.
